This be a large n' very comprehensive book about European pirates on the Spanish Main during the Golden Age of Pirates. It's written in two parts, the first being a chronological ordered history from 1629 to 1722. Most books write about a series of pirate captains and each individual history. By doing it chronologically, it show how the cause of one action resulted in another action, which is a more comprehensive picture of history. The second part be 21 chapters about a pirate's life which covers topics such as: the pirate code, sailing vessels, flintlocks, edged weapons, tactics, what they ate, and how they dressed. Overall, I very much enjoyed this book, as it was written by an fellow pirate reenactor named Robert Jacob, instead of a historian.
