We love pirate books that actually present new information on an old topic. 90% of all pirate books are from authors who steal info from other books and spice up the story with a few lies of their own.

Kevin Duffus has questioned the truth behind the legend of Black Beard and dug up some new discoveries that give us a better picture of who Edward Teach was.  Maybe Black Beard was not the worlds most dangerous pirate, born in Bristol, but the son of an honest sea captain named Beard out of Bath, NC.  Due to hard times the city of Bath send out its best young men to collect the coins of the Spanish Treasure Fleet of 1715 off the shores of Florida. After the first pirate attack, the Spanish fortified their position so that easy pickings were no longer available. Not wanting to go back empty handed, the sons of Bath became pirates.  After 2 years they went back home to find British Navy sloops waiting for them.

If you want to discover the truth behind the pirate named Black Beard, read this book.
