Jennifer Leigh Spann, the weather anchor fer Channel 8 news comes to Pirate Fashions to be transformed from weather girl into a lovely lady pirate.  This interview we featured Golden Mermaid Tiny Pirate Ship n' the 3 time periods of piracy.  Gasparilla be the 3rd largest parade in the USA, this be held on Saturday, Jan 28, 2023 this year.  She assure me that this year will be warmer than last year's frigid one, but still a bit chilly.

During arrr busiest time during Black Flag Friday, Fox Channel 13 news came unannounced to arrrr pack store to interview Tiger Lee and some shopping customers. They weaved short interview with a larger piece on different aspects of preparing for Tampa's largest n' oldest event.  Watch video.

The Hillsborough County Entrepreneur Collaborative Center in Ybor City puts on a local business panel every other week. Hosted by Lynn Kroesen. This week's event focus on Asian America Entrepreneurs and Military Appreciation.  As I be both Chinese n' a former US Army Officer, this pirate fit in nicely.

The first topic I talked about how Pirate Fashions makes arrr plunder n' what real pirate clothing be called.  The second topic was how we deal with Gasparilla n' what we do fer the rest of the year.  The third question be how to run a business without sales or advertising, make great product in a niche. That last being about how I don't look like Capt Jack Sparrow. Lady Honrado-Rosal of 7th Sky be a master rum taster (sounds like a pretty good business) n' Lady Lavin of Luminary Global be a disaster preparedness bag business.

On Feb 16, the YMKG announced that 2021 Gasparilla be canceled due to the pandemic, Spectrum News  Channel 9 reporter, Trevor Pettiford boarded Pirate Fashions to see how it would be effecting this small local business.  He quoted be as saying "It's like swimming in the ocean with a hook and peg leg. And then, now this new announcement, it's like adding a an anchor on."Support this local business with home decor of a Pirate Sign.
