Dagger bracers be a great way of always having a blade near by. Arrrr design be based on one found at the Maritime Museum. Seamen n' pirates didn't wear bracers to protect from sword cuts but they were designed to protect the sleeve from getting caught in the rigging n' to keep it clean.
