Ubisoft the producer to the Assassin's Creed: Black Flags is creating a spin off game called Skull N Bones which revolved around pirate ship warfare. This is the game we created that great Black Beard Coat from. The video game was delayed from their 2018 4th Quarter release date. Now we know why, so they could work on a Skull N Bones TV series.
They have teamed up with Atlas Entertainment, the studio connected with Wonder Women and Suicide Squad. The TV series is promoting the notion that it will be female driven pirate adventure set in the lawless frontier of Indian Ocean in the end of the golden age of piracy in the 1720s. It would fill the TV void left by Black Sails. Ubisoft is making a powerful statement by creating a TV series of a video game that is not out yet, so they must think it going to be one outstanding game.
Ubisoft's first movie, Assasin's Creed didn't do that well at the box office, but they are currently in production of The Division staring Jake Gyllenhall and Jessica Chastain. Amanda Segal, who worked on Person of Interest and The Misty, will be writing the series pilot episode. No release date for the TV series or game has been announced yet. But it most likely happen before the next POTC movie comes out.
