Neverland TV Mini-Series

The live-action project is a prequel to J.M. Barrie’s classic novel Peter Pan. It was written and directed by Nick Willing, and the story "centers on Peter (Rowe) who, along with his pals of young pickpockets, have been rounded up by their mentor Jimmy Hook (Ifans) to snatch a magical orb which transports them to another world - Neverland. Filled with white jungles and imposing cities formed out of trees created by Dr. Fludd (Dance) and inhabited by a colony of tree spirits led by Tinker Bell (Knightley), this mysterious realm welcomes unknown friends and enemies snatched from time. These include power-mad Elizabeth Bonny (Friel) and her band of 18th century pirates who search for the answer to eternal youth, a secret guarded by a Holy Man (Trujillo). As the fight to save this strange and beautiful world escalates, Peter and his crew consider that growing old somewhere in time could be less important than growing up—right here in their new home called Neverland."

Pyrates TV series by Ridley n' Tony Scott

This 10 to 13 episode TV series be based on historical events, Pyrates be described as a gritty portrayal of the men and women who pulled off the largest heist on pirate history -- the capture of the Spanish silver fleet in 1628 -- sparking the golden age of piracy, a time when there was greater honor amongst thieves than those who hunted them. FX and Fox International Channels teamed with producers Graham King and Gale Anne Hurd for 17th century pirate drama Port Royal. The limited series be set fer the summer 2012. The series be created by Law & Order/Numbers veteran Barry Schindel, with Stephen Hopkins (24) on board to direct the first episode. Indie producer Ensemble Entertainment is producing in association with Ridley and Tony Scott's Scott Free Prods (Gladiator)

When I did my research on the capture of the Spanish Silver fleet of 1628, from the Battle in bay of Matanzas, it was a Dutch VOC squadron action off the Cuban coast, not a buccaneer action. There might of been some Dutch Privateers invovled, but it mostly seemed like a regular naval battle during the Eighty Year war.

Warner Bros. be workin' on another film version of the classic pirate tale Treasure Island in the works – one which will “modernize” the novel in the same fashion as the recent Sherlock Holmes film. Appropriately, Sherlock Holmes producer Lionel Wigram is working with Warner Bros. on this new “updated” adventure film, which will be based on a script by relative newcomer Michael Gilio.

SyFy n' RHI Entertainment be takin' on a new television adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic, Treasure Island. This television movie be off to a great start with the casting of Elijah Wood as Ben Gunn, Donald Sutherland as Flint, and Eddie Izzard as Long John Silver. Toby Regbo will play Jim Hawkins and Phillip Glenister, Rupert-Penry-Jones, David Harewood and Keith Allen have also been cast in Treasure Island. The project set to film in Puerto Rice and Ireland.

While there have been almost a dozen Treasure Island films produced over the years, the one that most people remember is the 1950 Disney film which starred Bobby Driscoll as Jim Hawkins, and Robert Newton as Long John Silver. It was Disney‘s first completely live-action film, and the first screen version of Treasure Island made in color.
